President Obama’s Address to School Students Making Waves in Homeschool Circles
Sep 6th, 2009 | By Jessica Parnell | Category: NewsEven Homeschool Circles are debating the issue of the president’s address to school students.
It is sad and distressing when we as a country have to be concerned about just what our president might say to our children if we gave him permission to address them through our schools.
In his interview with child reporter, Damon Weaver, President Obama announced, “I am going to be making a big speech to young people all across the country about the importance of education, the importance of staying in school, how we we want to improve our education system and why it is so important to the country.”

Parents all across the country are reacting with opposition to the President’s address to the students. With lessons from history, it is clear that Hitler achieved much of his regime by going after the youth. In fact, he himself acknowledged that “he who owns the youth, gains the future.” Is this the direction that our current president is going? I don’t know.
However, I do know that even though homeschoolers do not face this battle, we could be facing our own battle as time goes on. More and more we are seeing parental RIGHTS to homeschool their children stripped away. In this article, the All American Blogger traces the history of the homeschool battle in Germany and compares it to the many issues homeschoolers face here in America today.
What lies around the corner for homeschooling here in America? I cannot say. But I can say that we must defend our RIGHT to homeschool and do what we can to assist others in exercising their homeschooling rights.
