Homeschooling and Public Schools
Jan 17th, 2009 | By Jessica Parnell | Category: General Homeschool Posts, New to HomeschoolingEvery day we speak with homeschoolers who homeschool because they are dissatisfied with the public school system.
For some it is because they are unhappy with the undermining of faith that is so prevalent in the schools, for others it is because they believe the school is lacking in academics, and for others it is because the “socialization” is so damaging to their children.
As we see the school systems continue to fail and become more and more a place where safety is an issue, we are not surprised to see homeschooling growing.
However, far too many of those who pull their kids from school due to a lack of satisfaction with or faith in the job the schools are doing are still a slave to the system.
Why? Because too often once they are enrolled in Bridgeway Academy, they make the same request. “I want to be sure that my kids are still on par with the public schools.”
Why would you want your homeschooler to be on par with a failing system?
The statistics do not lie–Homeschoolers on average score 25-40% higher on standardized tests than their public school counterparts.
Why would you want your homeschooler to be on par with a system whose students score 25-40% lower than their homeschool peers?
With homeschooling you have the freedom to determine the appropriate academic level for your child–the first step in the process when you enroll with Bridgeway Academy.
With homeschooling you have the freedom to select a curriculum that meets your child’s learning style–the second step in the process when you enroll with Bridgeway Academy.
With homeschooling you have the freedom to select a curriculum that teaches the truth about history and the various theories in science rather than one that is filled with omissions and inaccuracies. A choice you have when you enroll with Bridgeway Academy.
With homeschooling, you have the freedom to move your child ahead when he or she excels or back to a level that allows them to master the skills they need for future success. The reason our students are successful when enroll with Bridgeway Academy.
Whether you choose to use a homeschool academy like Bridgeway or not,
Don’t give up those freedoms in an attempt to remain on par with the very system you believe is failing your child!
